The Sun (Sol) is at the center of the Solar System, and everything in it rotates around it. It has a diameter of roughly 1.4 million km, a surface temperature of around 5800 degrees K (although the outer 'glow' has a temperature of around 2 million!) an is around 150 million km away! It emits light on most areas of the Electromagnetic Spectrum, although x-rays and infa-red are most prominent. It is classed as a yellow dwarf star, which means it is small in comparison to other stars!
